This mural is collaboration between 3 Gainesville artists: Carrie & Jesus Martinez and Tim Malles. Carrie and Jesus Martinez are self-taught artists and the owners of Visionary CrossFit Gym and Gallery on N. Main Street. Jesus is the head coach and illustrator and his inspiration stems from his background in graffiti. Carrie is a surrealist artist and performance painter. Her Goddess Art portrays powerful images of the Divine Feminine, spiritual symbolism, and the beauty of nature. The couple recently started collaborating on various murals around Gainesville. The Center of it All is the portrait of a local teacher who works out at Visionary CrossFit. Jesus and Carrie worked on the mural for 10 days and engaged astronomy artist Tim Malles to create the galaxy at the center of the mural. It portrays a beautiful Goddess forming the energy of a galaxy with her hands, demonstrating the power of creation.
